Over the past few years, the Ville de Montréal, in association with the Direction de la santé publique of the Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de Montréal, developed a number of communication tools aimed at informing the public about bedbug infestations. As part of an ongoing effort to reach Montrealers more effectively, the leaflet Let’s Fight Bedbugs has recently been translated into 18 languages, and is available in the form of tip sheets, which can be consulted at: avoidbedbugs.info.
The choice of languages is based on the 2006 census data (languages other than French and English spoken most often on the Island of Montréal) and the Montréal elector’s manual, available in 11 languages (Source: Bureau du greffe, Ville de Montréal).
We invite you to distribute these tip sheets as widely as possible. Addressing individuals in their native language can be a valuable asset in an overall effort to increase awareness of bedbugs, prevent spread and combat infestation. The translated documents are available in electronic form only, but can be printed easily.
